Frida Kahlo was a painter whose work turned personal pain into powerful visual language. While growing up she endured a childhood marked by illness and a devastating bus accident at age eighteen that left her with lifelong injuries. During her long recovery, Kahlo began to paint, using art as a way to explore her identity, body, and emotional reality. She is known for her self-portraits which combine realism and symbolism together. Her work addresses themes of physical suffering, gender, fertility, colonialism, and national identity, often drawing on indigenous Mexican culture, vibrant color, and symbolic imagery. 12 x 12" calendar includes major holidays, lunar phases, equinoxes and solstices.
