Description
Giovanni Segnatini was a self-taught artist. He came from a neglected childhood, as his mother long suffered from the loss of his brother. After his mother's death, he spent some time in a reformatory, where the chaplin encouraged his ability to draw. Best known for his pastoral landscapes, he would depict the common farmer, or shepherd, eventually moving into more symbolic images in his landscapes. This handsome 12 month calendar features many of his best works.
